Boise, Idaho-based Balihoo, the developer of software for automating local marketing by brands which is backed by OpenView Venture Capital, Highway 12 Ventures, and others, said today that it has named Shane Vaughan as Chief Marketing Officer. Vaughan joins the company from Hewlett-Packard, where he was Global Search Engine Marketing Manager. Balihoo also said that Vaughan is also involved in SEMPO, the search and marketing industry group. Balihoo's software helps to automate marketing by brands to local markets; the firm is headed by Pete Gombert. The new hire comes only a month after a $5M venture funding injection into the firm by its investors.
