Tempe, Arizona-based Avnet Technology Solutions, the solutions operating group of Avnet, Inc., said this week that it has named Michael Houghton as Vice President of Vertical Market Solutions. Houghton was most recently at Direct Alliance Corp. The firm said he wil be responsible for strategic direction and growth of its vertical markets in banking, energy/utilities, and retail.
