Lindon, Utah-based Avinti has scored a new win at a customer in Connecticut, saying that Wallingford Public Schools will use its isolation server product to screen for e-mail threats. The deal covers Wallingford's 12 schools and 7,000 students. Avinti's server product will be used to screen all emails between faculty, staff, parents, and outside organizations. Avinti's software uses virtual machine technology to screen the behavior of e-mail attachments and check for unknown security threats. The firm is backed by Sequel Venture Partners, vSpring, Symantec, Staley Capital Advisors, and Wilson Sonsini.
