Pocatello, Idaho-based AMI Semiconductor said today that it has entered into a new, two-year collaboration with IMEC, the European independent research center for nanoelectronics. Financial terms of the agreement with IMEC was not disclosed, however AMI said that it will develop critical processes and devices in IMEC's 200mm facilities, and also tap IMEC's expertise for its deep submicron process technology. The deal includes a team of engineers who will work in Leuven, Belgium along with IMEC engineers. IMEC is an independent research center focused on nanoelectronics and nanotechnology. AMI Semiconductor is a developer of mixed-signal and digital semiconductors for the electronics market.
