Salt Lake City, Utah-based Altiris has added a new, centralized password management solution, saying today its new Altiris Local Security Solution will help manage passwords and user and group permissions. The new product complements the existing line of Altiris security configuration management tools. Altiris said that its Local Security Solution software will detect compliance errors, limit unauthorized users from sensitive systems, enforce local annount memberships, and randomize and cycle passwords depending on a schedule. Altiris is a provider of management software for IT organizations.
